I decided to revisit my passion for macro. In fact, I’ve been researching cellphones to see what the latest batch of phones can do. Some of them are very impressive and tempting me to upgrade. As you may know, I live simply and don’t buy much or subscribe to the consumer model that our elite and corporations have used to drive incredible wealth to themselves while doing great harm to the world. However, I do still live in the material world and occasionally treat myself to something nice. 😀 And given my love for photography, a phone upgrade is likely in the near future. Meanwhile, I continue to appreciate nature and my current phone camera.
May you find beauty in your life.

Wonderful photos Brad. Go ahead and treat yourself to a new phone, the latest versions have fantastic cameras and you’ll have a blast with your love of photography. 💜

I love your photos — macro AND micro. Thank you for taking and sharing them! I also love that you often highlight the amazing fungi world. Your current phone seems to be doing a great job capturing your vision… I often worry about the things we don’t see behind the scenes regarding the manufacturing of our magical technology — such as the warfare for access to precious metals which ends up ruining habitat for endangered (non-human) species. Deep breath in. Deep breath out.

I’m grateful and humbled at your appreciation for my photos. Thank you Will. And yes, there are so many costs to our current ways of living that it can be hard to know what is right. Deep breaths…

If you took photos with a disposable camera, they would still be extraordinary. Your eye for beauty always blows me away. However, the cameras on the new phones are unreal. I look forward to what you share with us after your upgrade. I’m bracing myself for the magic. HNS, Brad. 🍄

LOL. Thanks Tanya. Now I feel pressure to upgrade and wow you! Maybe ingesting some mushrooms will help. 🍄 😀

Ha! NO PRESSURE BRAD! I love your photos just as they are. Dropping some mushrooms might make it rather interesting, and, holy, would I ever like to read about that! 😂🤣

HI Brad,
Great photos! I too try to live simply, but, as you said, we live in this material, so often we have no choice.
I have to upgrade my phone because there are no more updates for my current one. I am dreading it. 😦
Good luck on your potential purchase.
Blessings! ♥♥

Thank you Ana. Maybe the fun and features will make the upgrade worthwhile. 🙏

perhaps if I spend some time reading the manual and learning about all the features…
Phone is back-ordered . Will arrive in November. 😦

I hope you enjoy it. I don’t worry about features, other than the basics of what I use like email, text, calls, and camera.

Thank you. The dew drops were even more spectacular in person, sparkling on the web, berry, and leaves.

A wonderful haiku, that celebrates the fascinating plants and their incredible networks. Good luck with your phone purchase. It has become more complicated than buying a car. 🤪

Go for it Brad!!!! We all deserve a huge gift to ourselves for making it this far through the insanity we’ve been thrust into 🙂 Delving into our passions is what Creator wanted for us all along, not the myriad of distractions they have dreamed up for everybody…Jump head first and have a great time. Your Haiku says it all very well. Nature is truly a healer…VK

Dewdrops on a spiderweb…always a magical sight, along with fungi!
There’s nothing wrong with liking nice things and treating yourself. The difference is that you’re filling your heart/soul rather than trying to fill a void that can’t be filled. You are one of the lucky ones. 🙂

These are lovely, Brad. I know what you mean about trying to live simply but living in the material world! We choose out battles, I think, and conscious decisions is the way to go 🙂

Living simply is so wise! I feel buried in a deluge of emails, texts, chores, etc. Too many things. A small house by a river is sounding better and better . . .
