winter

soulful whispers

darkness growing outside

nature retreats and hibernates

quiet

silence

sweet surrender

prepare for a long rest

creatures gathering and nesting

renew

solstice

time to reflect

visions of what will be

mourn rest ponder and imagine

healing

nightmares

fading away

resting weary spirits

body mind and soul repairing

rooting

dreaming

gifts of the night

feeding body and soul

moonlight tending inner landscapes

rebirth

This is my garland cinquain offered as a soulful gift for the solstice and Christmas. Thank you to Diana at Myths of the Mirror and Colleen at Word Craft Poetry for the inspiration to try a new poetry form. I will likely take a week or two off from blogging to celebrate the season with my soul. #SoulSpaces, #TankaTuesday, #SoulfulSolstice

May we take time to rest our bodies and souls, allowing the season and mysterious light to feed us.

Happy Solstice and a Merry Christmas to all. ✨

  6. What a beautiful combination of gifts… 🙂 Such a delightfully deep and truly inspiring poem Brad.. The wonder that Nature offers us in its winter gifts.. The rest.. the sleep, the time to save ones energy… Ready for the renewal of Spring..
I feel while the world at large is swirling in its Winter storms… We are all on the cusp of seeing unfolding renewal starting from our internal selves..
As we shake off the icicles and cold, from our outer coats… We peel off the layers as we warm our hearts by our inner fire…
May we all of us find comfort sitting within our own inner h-earth… as we soak up the warmth and love that is always burning, waiting for us to come in from out of the cold.. As we share our love.

Much love dear Brad.. Thank you my friend for your friendship I appreciate you my friend. 😀 💜🙏
    Have a beautiful Christmas🎄🎅🙏

  7. A beautiful piece of work, Brad. Very fitting for this season and also for this year ~ the quieter holiday season is nice in the sense we can rest our weary spirits, and while we recuperate from this crazy year our soul can continue to dream. I love how you end this with you taking the time to “Celebrate the season with my soul.” Perfect!

  8. Brad, this is absolutely precious beyond words. Wow!! I agree with every single word and yes the time has come to heal, to BE, to give ourselves nurturing and rest. It’s been a very hard year. Let us all be kind to ourselves as we learn how quiet and solitude can benefit our souls. Much love to you! xo
