From Wikipedia; Fiddleheads are the furled fronds of a young fern, often harvested for use as a vegetable. Left on the plant, each fiddlehead would unroll into a new frond.

the return of spring

Spring has officially arrived and I feel a burst of energy and renewal. This year feels especially powerful and hopeful, maybe because my life is in a good place and I have an upcoming date! I’m excited to meet and explore whether we might share a connection. We met on a dating site where she actually reached out to me. We’ve talked a little on the phone and are going to meet for a hike this weekend. No matter the results, I’m grateful for a date and the chance to meet someone new. The process is helping me feel more alive, wanting to be and give my best. So it’s a win no matter what happens.

Thanks for your continued support.

Yes Diana, it’s a wonderful gift for spring tempered by news I just received about my mom’s health.

I’m sorry to hear that your mom’s health is troubling. We;re about the same age, and I can relate to the worry as our parents age. Have a safe trip and my best to both of you.

I love this, Brad, even though I now know that God has interrupted your plans – at least temporarily – and maybe these bumps in the road will level out into something glorious 🙂 I like how you described how this process is helping you “feel more alive, wanting to be” as those are the best feelings to have, and like you say, it’s a win no matter what happens. While a rough road is ahead for you, I believe you will handle this piece of life well. Take care.

Thanks Randall. It’s a worthy goal that will be more challenging now that mom has cancer. I’ll do what I can to help her and stay open.
