the Ozarks are bursting with green
the colors of spring on every hill
dazzling daffodils in bold yellows
cherry trees exploding in white
redbuds painted in pink buds
warm my tender heart
~

~
the parade of spring
vibrant blossoms and colors
dance upon the hills
where red cardinals sing out
announcing spring’s arrival

springtime
blossoms abound
lush greens cover the earth
witness to nature’s grand rebirth
wake up

For Colleen’s latest poetry challenge #310, I chose to write three poems; a free verse, a tanka, and a Crapsey Cinquain, which is a five-line poem with a syllable structure of 2-4-6-8-2. The goal is to build drama in lines 1-4, then shift your focus in the fifth line.
As with many of you, the arrival of spring beckons me to get out and enjoy nature in all her glory. My body and soul awaken along with the birds to celebrate the arrival of spring. Hopefully, we won’t have any surprise snow storms, but some hard frosts are likely.
May your heart sing with joy!
Lovely!

š³š„µ we don’t get that high even in the height of Summer. 24C, and we’re happy, lol if that. Only last year we had record highs. I did melt then, 29c to 30c, which is around your 90f . How hot in mid Summer do you go?

Early the other morning, I heard the birds singing, and it made me smile so big. Hearing their morning song signals the arrival of spring and the awakening of my soul, too, Brad. I feel like I have a pep in my step these days, and I am looking forward to closing the door on a dark winter and enjoying the fragrances and beauty of spring. We are so close! I hope the sun is shining on you today, my friend. HNS š
