Savoring Sunsets

Winter sunset from downtown Fayetteville.
One of many beautiful sunsets on the White River.
Sunset over the Blue Ridge Mountains outside Ashville NC.

A recent post from fellow blogger Tania Marie reminded me of how much I love to watch sunsets. If you want to see some dazzling sunsets, I suggest visiting Tania’s sunset post. During several periods of my life, watching the sunset was a nurturing routine I practiced. It was a treat to live near a river with views of the water and sunset. I loved the dazzling display of colors and found myself shifting into a state of relaxation, appreciation, and oneness with the world. I hope you have routines that bring you back to your essence and connection with a bigger life.

A rare sunrise for me while camping at Lake Ouachita, AR.

May beauty find its way into your heart.

  1. Absolutely breath-taking and stunning sunsets and wow to that Sunrise Brad. pure magic… There is indeed something magical about watching both the sun rise and set, and the crimson glows it leaves not only in the sky.. But in our hearts also.

  2. These are very moving sunset windows, Brad. They evoke a lot of feeling and set different mood tones. The sunset on White River shares the colors of one of the sunsets I posted – the first one. How cool! I’m so happy with share experiences of how nature’s miracles move through us. There is definitely grace and oneness in the witnessing of harmonic brilliance sunsets convey. Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful vistas as seen from your heart and for linking to my shared sunset portal.

  3. “Nature’s grand goodnight” indeed! Gorgeous sunsets, Brad, and all so different. I used to live near water and those views at dusk were frequently breathtaking. Now I’m socked in by trees, so thanks for sharing yours, and a beautiful poem to capture the wonder. ❤

      • I’m glad you’re taking care of yourself and figuring it out. And grateful that I’ll be on your blog list. My new place is fine, but I find it a little dull living with all seniors. I like interacting with people of all ages. I hope your move goes well and look forward to reading about your move/ adventures/life. Big hugs…💕

      • Thank you for your beautiful and heartfelt words, dear friend!! They really sooth my soul, I appreciate all the kindness you share with me, and on your beautiful blog in general! Just what the world needs! This video really cheered me up the other day, have a look if you like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwAYpLVyeFU 💗💗 Ah yes, I totally understand what you mean and how that could feel a bit dull living with all seniors. All is energy I think, and it’s nice to have a colorful mix of energies to interact with:) I love interacting with people of all ages as well. WordPress is lovely for that, I find! Hope you meet some new, vibrant people in person soon as well (maybe at volunteering gigs? Sth I am looking into… just an idea). So much love dear!!!💗💗💗 Have a beautiful day 💗💗💗

      • You’re most welcome Maria. I appreciate how you share your heart and tenderness so freely. I loved the video and reminder that kindness blossoms one act/person at a time. I do volunteer and see people with my job, just not much socially anymore. take care….💗💗💗

  6. Brad,
This makes me think about how the world might change if everyone watched the sunset. Even if they did it once a week. I think we know how to speed up better than we understand how to slow down.
    Your photos are so beautiful.

  7. Incredible, incredible series of sunsets, Brad. Perhaps my favorite is not the ‘set’ but the ‘rise’ in your last photo camping at Lake Ouachita. That is something to see and the perfect way to start a day/week/month/year! Cheers ~
