Emergent Spring

Emergent Spring

spring, soul, beauty~

spring

new buds

seek the sun

life emergent

buzzing with motion

birdsong fills the forest

nests, caves, and dens being built

harbingers of rebirth abound

heeding the impulse of creation

nature resplendent with color and sound

~

spring, beauty, poetry

I picked an etheree as my form for this week’s poem. I love the shape visually and the way a story unfolds in ten lines with building syllable count from one to ten.

This season I plan to spend more time in solitude and nature. Time in nature is a great way to nurture my soul and feel the connection with life. And photography helps me slow down, appreciate the beauty, and connect with that soulful place.

May your spring be full of beauty and soulful moments.

  1. Brad, you’re right about the etheree being a visually appealing form and it suits yoru poem perfectly here. Such a light and tender touch as you explore spring from the first buds to their full flowering splendour. Wishing you harmony and peace as you absorb the beauty of the season.

  2. I don’t know much about poetic forms. Your etheree is lovely as are your images (what’s the first flowering plant? The second appears to be a pansy, yes?) The first two yellow crocus started blooming in my front yard over the weekend β€” and then managed to survive a 36-hour arctic blast. Plants are AMAZING! Hurrah for the return of spring. It’s also my favorite season. Thanks for this beautiful, succinct blog post!

  3. Lovely Brad! Springtime is such a wonderful time of renewal! We just got a bunch of snow dumped on us yesterday, so it’ll be a while before we see any of those treasures of spring here. Thanks for sharing a taste of yours! 😊🌸

  4. I loved the delicate flowers in your pictures. The form of the poem complimented the delicate flowers and so beautiful to see each line build the beauty of the emerging spring. Wish you the most amazing times in the sweet glorious company of nature!
