Back to Work
I’ve recently accepted a full-time position going back into sales. The job is with a marketing company that does in-store promotion for SAMS Club. It will provide me a chance to earn a decent living after a long dry spell to rebuild my savings. I’m excited and a little nervous. I haven’t worked full-time since 2009 when the economy fell apart. It’s been a long hard road since then. I’ve learned to live very simply and denied myself many pleasures. It will be nice to have a better income to live on and build my savings, but will I have the time and energy to enjoy them? I don’t think working 40+ hours a week (especially at a job that isn’t my passion) is healthy or sustainable, but I’m intending to do it for a few years, focus on saving money, and get ready for retirement.
I probably won’t be writing, posting, or even reading as much on WordPress. I hope to keep my blog active, but it will probably be less often and a lower priority than it has been for the last few years. I want to thank my subscribers, many who have been following me for years and become part of my support and online community. You have brought much joy and meaning to my life. You are the reason I kept writing and posting through my periods of doubt and depression.
Maybe one day, I’ll even get to meet some of you. That would be awesome! Thanks again for your love and support.
Blessings, Brad
Congrats, dude! Exciting news. Keep us posted. =)

best wishes, Brad – and there is a time to do exactly what you are doing – and it will pay off later – and actually a few years of these can sometimes feed creativity and could have lasting fruits – sometimes we need routine, submitting to authority – and the change can really keep the funk out – 🙂

Agreed that sometimes it’s good to have limits and structure. And no doubt activity helps keep the funk away! thanks!

Congratulations on the new job, Brad, and very best wishes to you! I too am going to need to start thinking about working more in the near future, and to be honest, I’m not looking forward to it haha! But I’m hoping to find something that is inline with my passions. If not, I can still find ways to nurture and feed my soul when I’m not at work – and I know you can do the same. 🙂 After you settle in a bit to your new work/life routine, please keep in touch here and on other social media as you’re able and feel led to. I’ll be thinking of you and praying for you and sending love and light vibes your way! 🙂 ❤

Thanks for the kind encouragement Julie! I know I can and will find the balance. Like you, I’m not thrilled to be working full-time, but grateful for the opportunities this provides. And having more limits will mean I have to make the most of my time off. It’s off to work I go! 🙂

Congratulations, Brad. I work a 40 hour week and I still manage to find time for the things I enjoy. You’ll get into the swing of it.

Thanks Robbie. I’m amazed that you work full-time. It seems you must spend another 40 hours a week on blogging, social media, and baking, plus your family. I have no idea how you keep all that going!

I’ve only just recently found your blog but understand that change is in the air…I made a big life-style change in 1999 leaving a managerial position to move down to Mexico for three months which kick-started living a very simple life supplemented by part-time work for almost 20 years! I wish you the very best and yes, between the working hours, creativity will show itself and the fruits of your labour will allow you some of those luxuries you’ve been missing!

Thanks for your support I did some similar traveling and simplifying in my 30s, but now it’s time to rebuild and prepare for retirement.

Congrats Brad. I am so happy for you. Hopefully, this new job will provide you with the opportunity to enjoy life (as you build your nest egg). This couldn’t happen to a better, kinder person. And while this may not be your dream job, your positive personality will help you succeed. And you never know, if it may lead to something better for you.
I wish you all ther luck and happiness life has to offer. You will be missed my friend,

It is. We took a life break for two years and traveled the country while we were young. We will never regret it. I’m glad you had the time to explore a bit. Planning will also do your soul good. 🤗

Brad what wonderful news to return to after my break away my friend.. Keep following your heart and what feels right.. Working full time leaves little time for blogging I know, I did some years ago and burnt the midnight oil.. 🙂
So blog when you feel able and settle into your new routine..
I so hope all works out well for you my friend.. You deserve it..
Much love your way Brad and take care of yourself.. and I know we will not lose touch. 🙂

Look at it as a bridge Brad, a stepping stone to that which you are wishing to manifest. And I am sure all will work out if you keep your intention focused upon your goal in life.. ❤
