Flower Lover
~
roses are red
violets are blue
my garden is dead
and I’m missing you
~
grand feasts for my eyes
memories of former glories
flowers, buds, and butterflies
alive with grand stories
~
with your spring arrival
come water, magic, and light
nature’s colors gone viral
I shall revel in delight
~
Speaking of delight, Dutch photographer Geert Weggen has a clear passion for red squirrels. He’s been photographing them for over 6 years, resulting in some of the most amazing photos I’ve seen. The squirrels express their play and delight in nature, just like many of us human critters. Here are 30 of his best shots featured on the BrightVibes website. The photo above is titled Flower Power and inspired my poetry. I often behave just like this squirrel, diving into flowers for a closer look and smell. Maybe I was a bee in a former life. 🙂
I’m waiting for spring, too.

The wonderful thing about seasons is the turning, Brad. The dead garden amazingly comes to life again. Beautiful image. I’m heading over to check out more squirrels. 🙂
