I have long been fascinated by fungi and mushrooms. Fungi are heterotrophs that obtain their carbon and energy from other organisms. Some fungi obtain their nutrients from a living host (plant or animal) and others obtain their nutrients from dead plants.

Love this fungi.. I have never seen the like of it before… So it fascinated me.. I often see lots of fungi growing on trees or old stumps of wood.. Love this two tone one.. 😀

I love how they grow in ruffled layers. They are very beautiful. I discovered some in my yard that were transparent. Maybe I’ll write about them some day, too.
