Birthday Blessings

~
pistols on alert
silken petals call softly
sweet whispers of love
~
The lilies are back in full bloom, glowing with vitality and stirring my passion just in time for my birthday. I turn 60 today and am not sure how I feel about it. Thankfully, I have my health and passions like this blog, but so much in my life is still unsettled. And the call of family and moving back east are weighing on my heart, particularly my mother’s age and health. Meanwhile, we have today to find whatever beauty and joy we can.
Birthday Blessings from me to you.
Welcome to the 60’s! May this be the best birthday of your life thus far.

Happy Birthday! The 60s isn’t bad actually. Look at the experience and how much we still learn every day. We appreciate each day and what it brings. We work more diligently toward being healthy and fit and take time to smell the roses (or lilies in this case :-)). I think we appreciate all of life even more. Blessings to you!

Happy belated! And thanks for reminding us that in the middle of all else going on–the good, the bad and the ugly–we can still be with the joy in the moment.

Didn’t you hear? 60 is the new 40. You certainly look 40. I wish you belated birthday blessings that hold you in a universal hug and good wishes for the entire year. Funny how we used to think that when we reach this age we’d have all the answers. Funny how that is just not true. 💙

Thank you Pam. I’ve avoided aging for a long time, but I see it and feel it the last few years with little of that wisdom thing. 😦

Yes! Welcome to the 60s! This is often a time of transition and spiritual adventures. That’s how it seems to be in my household anyway. Having your health and passions is certainly a blessing. Enjoy your day and the year ahead!

Ah! My dear friend…I understand your thoughts and you know that I would help you any way I can! I don’t have all the answers but I live this daily. It is hard to know exactly what you should do, and I would normally say “follow your heart,” but just as in my post of today states, sometimes you have to use your brain instead of your heart. Never thought I would say that…or think that, but some decisions have to be made with your head to the exclusion of what your heart says.
Sending beautiful Birthday blessings, Brad!!!

Thanks for caring Lorrie. I was surprised by your post on leading with the head, just when I’m starting to learn how to lead with my heart. 🙂 But I trust things will unfold as needed. Hugs!

I’m surprised too, Brad! I know it is a departure for me…but just what is needed at this time. And if I am learning anything at all, it is to be flexible and non-judgmental. And…not to make you jealous…but as I sit on the beach (for the first time in I can’t tell you how long) and read your words and my response the song “Turn Turn Turn” is going through my head…for every season…
And it feels right!
Blessings, Birthday friend…I hope you are still celebrating 😊
