Frozen Beauty
~
spirals of water
landscapes frozen in stillness
moments of beauty
Like much of the country, Arkansas is having extremely cold temperatures. We had a high of 12′ on Tuesday with a nightly low of 1′! So I surrendered to the cold and went hunting for moments of frozen beauty. Lake Fayetteville was completely frozen which is very rare for here. There were so many beautiful ice sculptures, frozen landscapes, and reflections to enjoy. May we find beauty wherever we are.
Wintertime has a lot of beauty that you have shown us here, have a nice day, regards from snowy Hamburg, Mitza

Thank you Mitza. Unfortunately, we rarely get snow here. Feel free to enjoy it for me! 🙂

You found so much beauty in the cold! I know, that kind of temperatures are very rare in Arkansas (I used to come to Little Rock often when my son’s family lived there 2011-2012). Can you imagine, we had black ice on some of our bridges this morning! But when I got out with Dylan the temperature was already at 34 F and there was no frost to be found…just ice cold wind from the north 🙂

Wow. Black ice in Florida. Can we say climate change? 🙂

Never been to Arkansas but Lake Fayetville looks pretty inviting. May have to add that to my list! Thanks for the awesome pics as always.

Actually, Arkansas has some beautiful areas, especially the Buffalo River area with the nation’s first National River and limestone bluffs.

We were hit by the same storm, I think. It’s starting to melt now, but the bushes next to my house look like frosted wheat.

Can’t say I blame you, Brad! Anything below 80 makes me want to curl up with a good book 😉

I can handle a little cold, but not under 20 for days. Then it’s definitely book time. Of course, most nights are book time for me too!

I understand!! Any excuse to have a book in my hand 😁

Funny how we tend to want what we don’t have. My first reaction was to say I’d like to have your snow since we rarely see snow here. 🙂 To loving and accepting where we are.

It is incredibly beautiful, Brad. We just have heat, dirt and dry veldgrass in winter.

South Africa. We do get frost sometimes but generally it is still hot during the day in Johannesburg 22 degrees Celsius plus

Thanks Robbie. So you’re actually in summer now right?

Yes, we are Southern Hemisphere, the same as Australia. It is very hot here – over 30 degrees Celsius.
