Desert Chimera
~
clouds of wind and rain
desert storms marching onward
chimera searching
~
I haven’t had the time or focus to get back to my Chimera adventures so I wanted to write this short haiku to hold the space. May we find beauty, love, and adventure wherever we are. Blessings, Brad
Yup, you’re on a roll! Pictures and poetry both.

So much excitement in so few words, Brad. Well done. Since my November novel is set in a desert, it struck a chord. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Hugs.

I enjoy haiku and yet I miss the poetry that goes deeper like Rumi. I used to write those evocative love poems, but seem to have lost the rhythm. I hope your writing marathon is progressing. Happy Thanksgiving!

Love the poem and love the picture…he captured our typical desert monsoon storms perfectly!

I’ve never experienced one of those storms but would like to.

They are very powerful storms, but short lived. Since it is desert and the terrain is so wide open….you can see them for miles…love the lightning displays at night in the thunderheads. We had the same thing when we lived in Denver, but having lived in San Diego for 24 years…had forgotten about them until we built a home here. Again, I grew up in the midwest and have seen towns obliterated by tornadoes from these size of storms…but not typical for the desert monsoons to have tornadoes….just lots of lightening, winds and downpours…I have yet to get my photography in that direction as they make incredible pictures…working on it!!

You’ve lived in some wonderful areas Kirt. Maybe you’ll capture a storm in photos one of these days.
