Giving Thanks

Giving Thanksgiving thanks, loving house tribue

As I head into closing on the sale of my house, I’m remembering that I have much to be thankful for in my life. I’m thankful for my health, my home and all the friends who have supported me during this challenging time. People showed up at just the right time to help me with each step from listing to buying the house, sorting, organizing and selling my stuff, moving and finding a new place to call home. I have also received several interesting housesitting possibilities and the option to maintain my gardens for the new home owners! Β πŸ™‚

More than the things or process, as I let go of my house, garden and things, my intention is to focus on relationships. I want to rebuild, renew and allow relationships that are based on love, trust and good feelings. As friends both local and online have reminded me, the universe is and has supported me through each step of this process. My biggest current lessons seem to be around trust, decision making and flowing with life.

Here is a loving tribute to the home and gardens that have so beautifully supported me during the last 5 years; despite my complaints and mental resistance to the contrary! Β πŸ™‚ Β As a wise and loving teacher recently posted on Facebook.

Life is beautiful … and everything experienced which is not, is only created inΒ our minds. Coming to know this truth, in every cell of our body, there may still be pain,Β but suffering shall exist no more. ~ David Greene

I believe that things will slow and settle next week so that I might get back to writing, reading and connecting with my online friends. I give thanks to each of you that I have connected with in the last 4 years of blogging. And I give thanks to my beautiful home and garden. Goodbye my sweet.

Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. Good luck to you as you embark on your new journey. The most valuable things you’ll ever possess are your attitude and the peace of mind in your soul. The more you simplify your life, the happier you’ll become I have found in my over 5 decades on earth.

God bless you and have a happy Thanksgiving.

  4. Good luck Brad. You know I just signed a new contract, kind of unespcected… my partner and I have decided to move in together with her little boy, we found a beautiful cottage just out of town. It kind of fell upon us just at the right time (like you the universe is behind us) a lot of family think were mad moving out of town when I don’t drive (she does) but I can cycle it in 30 mins. This for me like you seems like a calling, a sense, a step towards my plans (which basically involves going off-grid with a twist, a post will come soon but don’t want to give too much away yet, it could be big) coming true.

I feel this is part of a long journey I have been traveling well all my life, but more so in the last 5 years are so. And I am realising all the horrid times over this period have been a learning process for me to complete my mind and thinking. Brad we are waking up like many others around us, lets embrace it and those who think were mad just don’t know the joy we are going to find in our separate but similar venture.

All the very best and let embrace it !!!

  5. Wishing you a great Thanksgiving Brad ~ thankful for the great past you’ve created, and now the holiday season is going to put you on a path to a greater future. I always get pretty optimistic this time of year, builds up momentum for the New Year. You’ve got a pretty exciting time and path ahead which is going to be quite cool – a trusting attitude allows the soul to be free. Cheers ~

    • Thank you Natalie. Yes, I had a beautiful home and gardens that I didn’t fully appreciate. So it’s a good lesson in appreciating my blessings. I’m sure there will be other beautiful spaces in my life. I appreciate your encouragement and faith. ❀

    • Thanks Neha. I alternate between excitement and nervousness over the new, unknown adventures to come. The good news is that I can create or go almost anywhere not having a home to be responsible for.

  7. Happy Thanksgiving, Brad, and thank you for helping us all to embody that which is most important in the world around us – people and relationships – with those close to us, with complete strangers, and maybe most importantly, with ourselves. Best wishes for you continued journey towards peace and love!
