Allergic to E Challenge
My kind friend Neha invited me to participate in this fun challenge. I invite you to explore her soulful poetry at Forgotten Meadows.
Here are the rules:
- Write a whole paragraph. Sounds easy right?
- Without any word containing the letter “e”. Not easy at all!
- By reading this post, you are already invited.
- Challenge at least five bloggers to take the challenge.
Joyful Woods!
Strolling down soft grassy paths, a boy found fanciful spirits to watch and play. A silly rabbit anxious to hop and run away. A happy cardinal chirping grand songs. A fluffy fox snuck by, darting and dodging. Stuart had a glorious day in joyful play. Hours past in play and magic. Gradually, food, Mom and comfort call him back. Upon his arrival, Stuart’s Mom was happy to find him in such a jolly mood. A joyful song fills his soul.
My nominees for the challenge are:
‘njoy! 🙂
drat those E’s anyway… 😉

I do believe I shall cheer everyone else along… However, that being said, should something occur to me, I will most assuredly jump in with both feet! 🙂

Thanks Lorrie. It was fun and challenging. I kept finding “e’s” and in fact ,had a couple when I published that Annette caught for me! Good thing I’ve learned to let go of being a perfectionist. 🙂

I love that statement more than you know!! I just sent u a little paragraph that I bet you will find an “e” in!! I, too, try to ditch the obsessive compulsive perfectionist side of me 😉 it is a constant job!! 😉

I took a wrong turn. I was driving on a dirt road and my car was bumping along. Around noon, I found the road was asphalt…not at all what I was on prior. I thought I lost my way! Just about half past noon, I saw a sign: “TWO WAY TRAFFIC…STAY RIGHT” I was so happy I was not lost, I was on my “RIGHT” path! 😉 ♡

Thanks Lorrie! 🙂 It’s wonderful and amazing that you can pop out these challenges so easily. 🙂 Do you understand that part of the game is to post them on your blog and link to the person who offered the challenge? You don’t have to, but part of the fun and benefit to challenges is sharing our communities.
Hugs my friend….

Thanks, Brad. I’m sorry I was being a rule breaker!! Due to major lack of time in this patch I find myself in, I couldn’t commit to the full rules of the challenges 😦 As soon as life moves into a saner tempo I will make it up to you 😉 As always, I appreciate you so much!! ♡♡

Here’s a tip. I wrote the story, then edited for words and tenses that could replace the ones with an “e”. And I let it sit several times and came back fresh. Have fun!

This is a beautiful passage and wow, I tried to write this simple comment without using “e” and as you can see I failed miserably. What a creative way to get the mind to think about the story and interpretation…very cool and very well done!

What a clever exercise to get the creative juices flowing. However, I think that the two most used keys on my keyboard in this exercise would be ‘e’ and ‘backspace’ 🙂 Thanks for sharing, Brad – nice work!

Thanks Dave. I know you could do it too. And yes it took lots of creative editing! 🙂

But I cheated (not that is says this is not allowed!), I found a web site while I was trying to write a poem without an e in it (in another window), because it was very difficult to write without an e, so when I saw hundreds of words without an e, it made it much easier.

Wowza! Ruby has a nice back yard! Is this your photo and do you know where it is? It sounds like you had a clever and creative solution to a writing challenge! Thanks again for playing. 🙂 blessings, Brad

Yes, it’s my photo. The ruby backyard is metaphoric/mythical, that a ruby — like in a gemstone, …can have a backyard.
I changed a few words around an I’m going to post it tomorrow morning, just heading off to hyperlink some words to your post.
