Rueful Ruminations
my heart is full of dread
violets are blue
just like the view
~
not to sing the blues
but have you seen the news
wars, violence, greed and hate abound
this seems to be our common ground
~
more violence, planning and hysteria
this new war in Syria
because the last few worked out so well
the world’s going to hell
~
I’m going back to my dreamland
where people live from heart and hand
offering peace, love and a new deal
for the people and world to heal
~
Today, I offer a satirical syllogism on the wacky world we live in. I hope we learn that war and force never breed peace, only intimidation, repression and ailments that fester into new wars.
Prayers for peace,
Yes Brad….. My heart too is Blue.. in fact its very sick.. As UK joins in the circle that never ends.. Its what the elite have been planning all along.. We have to remember to try not to get embroiled within the Fear of what is being sent our way.. WE can not allow our Lights to be dimmed or dismayed.. WE have to keep ever stronger our LIGHT burning with conviction to uplift and shower love and care into the hearts of Men who wield weapons of war..
Many thanks for this post.. A reminder to all to focus upon our Dreams and not our Nightmares..
Love and Blessings Sue xox

I agree Sue that we need to hold our own center of peace that is big enough to even embrace the war, hatred and more until maybe one day the world will be united in peace and love. I’m practicing within myself to embrace it all; the pain, the sad, the war, embracing and loving the energies within. Thanks for caring and being a vessel of Light in the world. blessings my friend. β€

I agree with you about the Dreamland, and I think that is why we must inspire others to find their own Beautiful place within, the place of pure divine Love, so that they can be moved to start living from that place. Happy people dont start wars, and everybody deserves to be happy! π π π Even the fiercest terrorist leaders were once little innocent babies crying for their mother’s Love π I think that is why, if we should preach and practice a religion, that religion should only be called Love β€

Absolutely Trini. π What we and the world really need are love, fostered in our hearts, hands and lives. I love how sweet your energy is in all your posts, comments and emoticons. XD I appreciate your reminder to foster that beautiful place within to then share it with the world. To peace and love! β€

I have to limit the amount of “news” I take in because it messes so severely with my sense of well being. The condition of our world overwhelms and grieves me so…
I really love the quote/photo that you added to your own Rueful Ruminations, thanks so much for sharing, Brad.

Me too Julie, π It’s impossible to not see the news somewhere on the web for me, so I thought I would ponder it openly, with tinges of blue, countered by hope. I’m glad to have a community of loving, peaceful and supportive friends. π

I can feel this poem Brad! Every day I wake up to new of more violence. It hurts my heart…I wish we could figure out how to spread love and banish fear. It is not the world I wish to see. Much love Brad! β€

Thanks for caring Lorrie. I think we need to nurture peace and love in our hearts and daily actions. I’m working on embracing all the inner conflicts first. π

It is probably not coincidence that my mood and demeanor correlate to the amount of “news” I consume each day. It has become a habit for me to tune out of the worldly occurrences involving war, hate, aggression, and greed. I choose to focus more on my circle of influence instead of my circle of concern. It may be smaller, but it is growing with each positive choice I make. Thanks for sharing Brad and best wishes for an inspired (and peaceful) day π

Thanks Dave. I agree with you. Generally I live that way. And I’m on the internet so much that I can’t seem to avoid the news. So occasionally I dip in to be aware of what goes on in the broader world. And no doubt that we make more impact in our personal circles. Thanks for holding the intention of peace and inspiration. π

Thanks Neha, my heart and soul always root for peace, and yet I wonder if it’s possible worldwide. It is clear that each of us who holds up the intention, peaceful energy and actions helps support that vision. π To peace in our hearts, homes and world.

If we all lived in our dream land, there probably wouldn’t be wars. Listening to others lies is often where wars begin. I like to stay in my on world as much as possible, I don’t mean in a naive way, just a protective way, I don’t get carried on the waves of others agendas. I leave them too it! π

I mostly do the same, other than advocacy writing and social media. But I also admire people who take actions on their values and dreams. π

Amen, brother. We peaceniks may never be heard as loudly as warmongers and haters, but if we don’t keep up the preaching, there’s *no* chance of change for the better. So keep it up. You *are* heard!
