It’s Raining Peace
Look, up in the sky
is it a bird, a plane, a man
no, it’s a peace tree
raining down showers
of love, respect and harmony
spreading peace
throughout the land
building bridges of hope
rivers of respect
houses of compassion
all working to love one another
Hallelujah, It’s Raining Peace!
~

This poem is to a playful #TBT, inspired by the 80’s disco romp called It’s Raining Men by the Weather Girls. If you want some fun, watch the video and imagine peace raining down, soaking everyone in joyful divine love. π
Or for a more serious poetry companion, try Cat Stevens Peace Train.

Hopeful poem Brad! I like the picture, the “tree of peace” with different religious symbols. Thank you π

A lovely post with beautiful, positive thinking Brad – and we all could do with some more of that.

LOL, thanks Hariod, I’m practicing offering more love and peace to myself and the world, regardless of the circumstances. I truly believe the Course in Miracles idea that everything is either love or a call for love.

Me too Cynthia, even if it’s probably a pipe dream. Of course, we can always start with ourselves. π I hadn’t heard of Mitra or her wonderful organization to teach kids about inclusion of different faiths. Have you met her or worked with her?

Beautiful, Brad, if people would only realize that we are all part of the same race — the human race. I’d love a peace tree of my own, but trust me on this, you do not want me to sing! π

Thanks! Maybe we could all plant peace trees in our yards and hearts. It’s OK, we’ll still let you sing or play the rattle. π

This is a beautifully optimistic poem. If only it did rain peace -There are far too many places in this world that need it.

Thanks. Yes, it is purposefully optimistic as vision and inspiration. Many places need peace, starting with each of us, in how we treat our friends, family, self and even those we disagree with. To peace

I love this poem and the tree is so beautiful. Peace train is one of my favourite Cat Stevens song it used to psyche me up to go into work and destress me after a day in the war of the workplace. You have some amazing early work too π

Thank you Isis. I love that song too and also enjoy music as a way to de-stress and boost my energy. I wrote from my heart and did more wisdom/ advice posts before I grew a larger audience. I’ve considered re-posting some of my early work to see how it would go over now. Let’s ride the peace train!

Brad you know I was going to ask you that same question about reposting some of your early work.πBut I wasn’t sure how you would take itπFor late comers like me I feel we have missed out on some gems. Please, please by popular request (just me actually) repost some of your early stuff? I would love to read the early Brad as well and I am sure others would too!

Thanks for the enthusiastic encouragement! Maybe I’ll share a few to see the response. And feel free to browse my early posts. π
